Back to School with Duct Tape

Back to school. . .this means backpacks and school bags!!! Last year, my little brother's R2D2 duct tape backpack was famous throughout the elementarty school. This year, he wanted to top it, (although really, how CAN you top star wars?) and so he asked for me to make him a minion from Despicable Me, complete with arms and legs. Then my other brother ordered a Perry the Platypus messenger bag. And THEN my sister wanted a cute new bag for school too. But THEN i decided that my beloved phantom duct tape bag was getting too small, and i had to make myself one for a change. So, needless to say, a week of non-stop duct tape.

To the side I've got all of my "schooly" bags if you're interested to see!

The Bakery Job

So, after my many cake endeavors, i have a wonderful job at the Sweet Tooth Fairy Bake Shop on Foothill. I am so excited for this opportunity. This shop is wonderful. The atmosphere is intoxicating, the treats are delicious, and the service is wonderful!

I will be doing custom cakes professionally for the first time, which is great, but kindof scary. Apparantly orders don't come in in access, but they are there, and will need to be filled. I also am working in a NICE kitchen at the bakery which will make my life SOOOO much easier! Anyway, if you're interested in a cake, cupcake, or just want to take in the smell, come and visit me at work! The Sweet Tooth Fairy on Foothill!

Watercolor

I've started expirimenting with watercolor. And I've decided that i really enjoy it. I had always had an avertion to it because in my mind, watercolor was connected to those pastel flower paintings that you see in every single doctor's office waiting room. But the more i've played with it, the more i've been able to get bolder, more vibrant colors out of the paint. I really enjoy how the paints feel under the brush. But i have found that it is a very different shading proccess for the watercolors than for any other paints I've tried, so the more practice the better.
